An oasis of tranquillity: The Kyoto Japanese Garden in Holland Park ~ a district and a public park in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, in central London, England.
Created as a "strolling garden" in 1991, plants and pruning techniques are carefully selected and maintained to reflect this style. The Kyoto Garden was opened as part of the 1992 Japan Festival in London and was refurbished in 2001, on both occasions work was carried out by specialists from Kyoto. (Photo by Fran Pickering, 2012)
